AUAKE is a ceramic studio and shop nestled in the picturesque village of Almoçageme, near Adraga Beach, within the cultural landscape of Sintra. Founded in 2021 by Soraia Serrano and Clément, AUAKE is a sanctuary where art, craft, and mindfulness come together. The studio offers a variety of hands-on workshops, including handbuilding classes for adults and children, wheel-throwing sessions, intensive courses, and a resident artist subscription for those seeking ongoing creative practice. All handbuilding classes are led by Soraia (in English, Portuguese, or Spanish), while wheel-throwing sessions are taught by Nuri (in English or Korean). Participants learn fundamental ceramic techniques, create their own pieces, and can collect them after glazing and firing — typically within four weeks. More than a studio, AUAKE is an invitation to slow down, reconnect with clay, and find tranquility in the art of ceramics.
