Chezmoi is a cooking atelier in Lisbon's Marvila district, founded on the belief that cooking is an act of love. Run by Isabel Cardoso and Catarina Carvalho, this welcoming space is dedicated to inspiring people of all ages—from young aspiring chefs to seasoned home cooks—to develop their culinary skills and rediscover the joy of cooking. The school offers a structured learning path through its signature courses: Cozinha Zero for complete beginners who want to take their first steps in the kitchen; Cozinha Um for those with some experience looking to deepen their technical knowledge of stocks, sauces, and cooking methods; and Cozinha Dois for confident cooks ready to tackle more elaborate dishes. Each course consists of three to four hands-on classes of approximately three hours, culminating in a shared meal where participants taste everything they've prepared. Beyond the regular courses, Chezmoi hosts themed workshops focusing on specific ingredients or cuisines—fresh pasta, rice, octopus, vegetarian cooking, and Asian traditions—led by guest chefs from renowned Lisbon restaurants including Penha Longa, The Oitavos, Taberna Albricoque, Tasca Kome, and more. The atelier also runs culinary workshops for young people aged 10-16, summer cooking programmes, team building events for companies, and a Cooking Coach service that brings a chef directly to your home. With a philosophy of creating delicious memories together, Chezmoi combines technical instruction with warmth and enthusiasm, ensuring every participant leaves with both new skills and a deeper appreciation for the transformative power of cooking.
