CAV (Centro de Artes Visuais) is a cultural institution based in Coimbra dedicated to visual arts, particularly photography and moving image (video / film). It was established as a structure for producing exhibitions, projects, and educational programming in contemporary visual arts. The gallery hosts individual and collective exhibitions (often with commissioned works), works with both national and international artists, and supports the creation and dissemination of image-based art. It also operates a library, educational services, and is a recognized institution in Portugal’s cultural field.
