OMA is a digital fabrication atelier in Alvalade, Lisbon, combining traditional Portuguese craft patterns with modern technology. Founded in 2014 as a resident project at FabLab Lisboa, the studio creates upcycled objects from discarded materials including wood, cardboard and fabrics. Using laser cutting and 3D printing alongside handcraft techniques, OMA produces light boxes, sound boxes, furniture and custom homeware inspired by Portuguese crochet and tile patterns. The atelier offers Azulejos de Luz workshops where participants learn digital design, laser cutting and LED assembly to create their own illuminated tile-pattern light box. Services include laser cutting, engraving, CAD design and signage production.
